Questions
What is the cheapest SubmitHub alternative?
It depends on what you count. To try for free: Daily Playlists (10 standard submissions a week, no response promise), PlaylistMap (3 free contact unlocks, no card) or artist.tools (free plan; contacts need a paid plan). Per-pitch starting points among the brokers: SubmitHub premium credits start at $1 each (about $0.80 in bulk, 1 to 5 credits per curator); Groover is about €2 per contact; SoundCampaign budgets are set by you, and its published minimums disagree ($80 on its pricing slider, $60 in a blog post), so confirm the current minimum before buying; Playlist Push campaigns start at $280.
Which alternatives give you the curator's contact details?
The contact databases do: artist.tools (unlimited contacts for $15 a month), PlaylistMap (credits; $9.99 a month for 20 unlocks) and PlaylistSupply (unlimited contacts for $24.99 a month). The brokers (Groover, Playlist Push, SoundCampaign, Daily Playlists) keep the curator inside their platform; Groover says curators may share their contact if they like your track.
Which ones promise a response?
Different things are promised. SubmitHub premium credits: a response within 72 hours after a 60-second listen, with 20 or more words on a decline, or the credit back. Groover: feedback within 7 days or the Grooviz back for that contact. SoundCampaign: written feedback on every completed review, and no charge if a review doesn't happen. Daily Playlists premium credits: a response within 7 days or the credit back, where the response can be feedback or a placement at the curator's discretion; standard submissions carry no promise. Contact databases promise nothing: you email independent curators yourself.
Can any of them guarantee a playlist placement?
No. The four brokers we checked and SubmitHub all disclaim it, and the three contact databases sell contact access, not placements. Spotify says services that claim to offer guaranteed playlist placement for money violate its terms, and they shouldn't be used.
What is PlaylistMap, and who runs it?
PlaylistMap is a curator-contact database and pitch tool run by PlaylistMap LLC, the company named in our terms; our earliest accounts date from February 2021. It sells access to the contact details curators post publicly, drafts pitches, does not sell placements or streams, and is not affiliated with Spotify or any service on this page. Ways to check us yourself are on our 'Is PlaylistMap legit?' page.
